Nice setup Florian... I used to have a NP wetsuit that had yellow shoulder patches... maybe you can find a used one on eBay along w/ an old yellow original DaKine Thermoform.

I used to be super anal about this kind of stuff... a little more relaxed approach these days. Anyway, EP extensions generally have lower min settings, but some US Cups are pretty low. Every company measures differently, and even an extension w/ a "low" setting, can have a bulky cleat base that effectively puts the bottom of the mast higher above the uni (even though the gap b/w the extension and sail pulleys may be small).

Personally, I really like the Streamlined euro pin single-bolt unis and extensions. They work well and are dependable. The extensions for 2012 have a redesigned Quick-Six cleat base that has larger diameter pulleys that are now made of Delrin. The hardware used to put it all together is also much improved. Extensions are also available in carbon, although I still prefer aluminum for durability.

I like both Chinook and Streamlined single bolt and europin designs. I know, the traditional 2 pin cup is more secure (2 points of contact), and more sand friendly (thus a favorite among pros), but I have had no problems yet, perhaps due to my OCD care. The europin is easier for me to engage and disengage at the time of rigging/de-reigging and I really like this.

I like Chinook's EX 1 piece SS pin design. I like the Streamlined translucent discs the Kevin sells with the track pin. I got them for both bases. I end up using the Streamlined most of the time for the reason Kevin mentioned. It is just easier to hand tighten and remove.

That said, I am getting play in the bottom of my Streamlined bottom UJ cup/base plate connection due to wear that makes me a little nervous. There is no way to tighten this. I suspect I would need to buy a new base to address this.

There is a little play between the lower tendon cap and baseplate on the Streamlined Twist-On unis. This is normal and all the new ones have it. Actually, you can take your uni apart and see how the bottom attaches to the lower tendon cap... will probably make you feel better about it.
