Hey all my East Coast Sailors.
Tyson Poor and I will be descending on the Hatteras area April 12 for a couple week of windsurf clinics, shop talks and other events.
We are planning on doing a couple one day group clinics for $75 per day. Into to Freestyle as one topic and Jibing and Trick Jibes as another. We will set the days here in a moment and post here as well as have the info up at Wind NC.
Then we are also making ourselves available to do private group clinics at sound side houses (since we know you guys all keep your gear rigged and ready and don't want to leave to head to the C-Hole).
So shoot me a message here or at my email if you want to get in on the antics.

Ohhhhh ya!
Just looked at the Hatteras forecast and it looks breezy all week, 20-30.
Needless to say we are getting stoked for the trip.
We just figured out the dates for our group clinics, first one will be Jibing and Trick Jibes, and the second one will be Intro to Freestyle. We are limiting them to 9 heads which will be great with 2 instructors. so shoot me an email if you want in. Hatteras here we come!!!!

Hey guys!
Question to you: I'm interested in jibe clinic, but not sure if it will be beneficial for me.
What I have: On flat water 90-95% my jibes are "dry", but I'm planning out of only 25-30% my jibes.
What I want: at least 75% planning out of jibe. Also interested in learning Duck jibe.
Is it possible or that depends on level of rest people in the group?
Thanks,

Hey Andrew,
You actually sound like the perfect candidate. We will be covering stay dry jibes for sure and that will lead in to how to plane out more effectively.
We will definitely be covering Duck jibes as they are a much superior jibe (way easier to plane out of due to the fact that you have a steady stable power source in your hands through the slowest portion of the jibe) and they are still one of my favorite moves. I like to teach them by separating the duck from the jibe, because the hardest part of learning the duck jibe is the word JIBE.
Plus we will be working on starting in to 1-handed carve 360's which are actually easier than 2 handed carve 360's or laydowns because they allow you to stay more upright over the board and thus commit less. We use them as a teaching tool to get people used to having the sail lay down and show people how the apparent wind supports the weight of the sail, while forcing people to concentrate on front footed carving.
So ya we are not going to just stop at jibes because, Duck Jibes and Carve 360's and switch footed sailing all help immensely with the regular planing jibe.

Sorry I'll miss chance with the pros.

Awe Fun Hog you just gotta hot a bit more fun and make it down before the 28th so we can show you some good on land Vulcan drills. But ya the vulcan is really the hardest learning curve, definitely a couple hundred whiplash crashes before you get it. It does open the door for all the other sliding tricks and none are as painful to learn as the Vulcan.
Its all about the sail , the harder you pull your front hand across your body in the air the harder you will kick your back foot behind you. All about the shoulder to shoulder motion
Good luck
