No problem. I got there at 1:30, sailed an hour on a 5.0. Then switched to a smaller board and a 4.5. That was just perfect for the end of the session. Swell was setting up nicely right when the tide changed. Sailed another hour and a half after that. It was a really good day.

I started sailing at Tomales this season (three times already; went out right after you that day Steve). It's addictive, gorgeous scenery, and oysters as an excuse for the drive.

Now it seems about two-third of the way to the other side of the bay there is always a wind hole at the same spot, then wind again, then another hole, then crazy wind/chop before reaching the "beach". Which makes for an interesting ride for that last third portion Laughing Was barely planning in the holes on 84l/5.2 while almost overpowered in the "good" portions. Regulars seem to jibe earlier...

Yesterday I got blown off the water on my 3.5. The nice thing about those holes is they give you a soft spot to gybe in. I am thankful for them as the alternative (unless your high wind gybes are rock-solid) is to watch your gear cartwheel away from you. So on a sane day, gybe where there's wind, on an insane day, look for the holes. The only problem with that and yesterday's wind is when I'd gybe, I ended up fighting the (relative) lack of wind, trying to get my 75 Liter board and 3.5 meter sail going before I sunk.
