One of the big downsides to technology is being on the wrong side of it. My current system yields nothing of value. A total black screen of the continental US offers what?

Very cool. The black screen yields a moving flowing field of wind vectors over time. It's really quite beautiful. For more, try this: http://hint.fm/wind/gallery/mar-27.js.html

It's trippy and pretty, but I don't know what it means
I'm more interested in local flow....once i saw a program that could model surface winds over local topography

Did you zoom in? I thought I could see quite a bit from it.
I'm used to the intellicast one which is a little easier to read but doesn't refresh often enough.

I did zoom it....made it worse....Seems like it "Airbrushes" in alot of data points that really don't exist.....for my area, I know where all the sensors are, and the lines on this model WAY exceed the number of sensors.

Please don't get me wrong....I really like the thing, and would love it as a streaming HD big screen on my wall, but the trees around my house are probably more accurate or easier to understand.....I'm just not going to check it before I go......

Maybe I'm too much with the science end....and not artsy enough....go to their homepage....i think they are planting a GoogleChrome bomb or something

Have you seen this?

(Just as cool....probably their same software)

Zooming appears only to pixilate the land mass yet overlays the same apparent detail. Not sure what that means to accuracy, but simply could mean a less than ideal graphic engine that underlays the wind flow stream engine.
