The Apple growth machine which has taken it to the largest, and soon to be most profitable company in the WORLD, has happened during Obama's term. There is NO way it could happen in the type of world you negative right wingers describe each day.

Didn't Bush set the stage for that? Wink

Make your small contribution to our nation's welfare. You give up your Obama free handout.

Janet Reno did (under Clinton), by making sure that IE/WIN wasn't going to be the only browser for the WWW. Microsoft invested heavily in Apple to get the DOJ off their back and here we are.

No surprise about the orientation of the article, given that it's The Washington Times.

According to Wikipedia:
- "The Washington Times is a daily broadsheet newspaper published in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. It was founded in 1982 by Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon..."
- "The political views of The Washington Times are often described as conservative."
- "Conservative-turned-liberal writer David Brock, who worked for the Times' sister publication Insight on the News, said in his 2002 book Blinded by the Right that the news writers at the Times were encouraged and rewarded for giving news stories a conservative slant..."
- "In a 2008 essay published in Harper's Magazine, historian Thomas Frank linked the Times to the modern American conservative movement..."
- "The Times has generally opposed gay and transgender rights."

Time for the conservatives to tune in to Dan Hicks' old hit, "I scare myself."

Your boy Ryan scares me almost as much as Santorum. Dumm and Dummerer. Oh that's right, you guys resent Obama's intelligence.

You guys are right, we're not f##ked , OUR KIDS ARE!!

In comparison, yes, our kids get screwed by Obama's budget even more than we do -- as in an exponentially rising debt curve -- according to the CBO. LOOK AT THEIR COMPARISON of Obama's vs the GOP's budgets:
.

The WSJ article this came from is at http://tinyurl.com/6qkz65p .
The GOP Budget and America's Future
by Paul Ryan, Chairman House Budget Committee
Highlights include:
The president's budget gives more power to bureaucrats, takes more from taxpayers to fuel the expansion of government, and commits our nation to a future of debt and decline.

Last year the House passed a budget designed to prevent an explosion of debt from crippling our nation and robbing our children of their future …

Courageous Democrats have joined our efforts and bipartisan opposition to the path of broken promises is growing.

Our budget delivers real spending discipline, not through indiscriminate cuts that endanger our military but by curtailing crony politics and government overreach ...

More important, it tackles the drivers of our debt and averts the fiscal crisis ahead. (the president's budget pushes debt as a share of the economy even higher. In his budget's own words, it allows the government's fiscal position to "gradually deteriorate" after 2022.)

Our budget's patient-centered Medicare reforms make no changes for those in or near retirement, instead gradually offering increased options for citizens now < 55. [more detail snipped]

Our budget also spurs economic growth with bold tax reform—eliminating complexity for individuals and families and boosting competitiveness for American job creators.

Reduce the corporate tax rate of 35% -- soon the highest rate in the developed world -- to 25%. [snip]

We reject calls to raise taxes, but sustain revenue partly by closing special-interest loopholes. More important, our reforms will grow the economy—and the faster the economy grows, the more revenue the government will have to meet its priorities and start paying down the debt. Many Democrats are involved in designing this plan.

While these ideas have enjoyed growing bipartisan support, President Obama has doubled down on policies that have drawn growing bipartisan opposition.
With regard to Medicare, his latest budget calls for giving "additional tools" to the Independent Payment Advisory Board, an unaccountable board of 15 unelected bureaucrats empowered by the new health-care law to cut Medicare in ways that will lead to denied care for seniors. Just this month, Democrats and Republicans alike voted for a measure to repeal this board.

The president's latest budget calls for taking more from American families and businesses by raising rates and adding complexity to the tax code—precisely at odds with the bipartisan consensus for tax reform. The contrast with our budget couldn't be clearer: We put our trust in citizens, not government. Our budget returns power to individuals, families and communities. It draws inspiration from the Founders' belief that all people are born with an unalienable right to the pursuit of happiness. Protecting this right means trusting citizens, not nameless government officials, to decide what is in their best interests and make the right choice about our nation's future.

You mean the guy that wants to repeal the ACA, removing the insurance mandate and insurance protection that is provided while suggesting that Medicare age be increased to 67 and provide vouchers in place of traditional Medicare? What sort of insurance does he think will be available for a diabetic with cancer within the competitive "free market". Try buying health insurance, even with no health problems, at 66 years old in today's unreformed environment.

The guy that wants to cut Medicaid funding and let medical care for those folks be provided out of the good will of the system?

News flash Mr. Ryan...MARKET FORCES DO NOT WORK IN MEDICINE.

ISO is right....if we feed all seniors a farm fresh diet, and make them go to Bikram Yoga, then we can kill Medicare and the budget will be fine.
