I'm looking for information about windsurfing Tarifa Spain. We would rather stay home in SF Bay to sail in the high season, July-Aug.
So we are thinking April or May. Is May ok?
Suggestions on gear rental.
Suggestions on hotels or bungalows.
Suggestions on travel. We are thinking about flying to Barcelona, driving the coast thru Valencia, Seville, and then to Tarifa.
Opinions, Thanks, ?

Since you have a car you can stay at the beach where you sail and walk over.there are more than a dozen condo style at the beach.
There are Euro test centers for big manufacturers there and private rentals are plenty.Easier than bringing it from town. The town is a gem. Plan to hang in the cafes a lot.You can sail to Morroco without getting arrested. It is visible from the launch.A number of sailors have died trying.

I am studying in Valencia until the end of July. I would also love to hear any advice on good spots to go for weekend trips.

The winds start to generate in May, but definitely later in the summer is better.

Hotel Milon is a super sweet spot with less of a walk and less wind shadow then Hurricane. Great gear rentals as well.

You can also take the ferry to Tangier and drive down to Essaouira, Morocco. We traveled there for a week and had a great time.

So windy in Tarifa. I sailed there in 80+ kilometer winds. Huge Port ramps sailing towards Africa and easily 12-15 foot rollers. Considerable ferry traffic to shred for the crowds, then come in to grilled fresh fish caught while you're sailing.

Spain Rocks!!!
