I have a friend looking for a sailable SUP or a larger, beginner/intermediate windsurfer in the bahamas. He would like a complete kit including sail/mast/boom.

He weighs 200 #'s and has basic up-haul sailing skills.

I am not familiar with shipping costs for large equipment to the bahamas and if it is reasonable, so would consider equipment from other areas as well.

Thank you.

Either you or he would need to consult shipping companies, FedEx, and whatever else options are availible.
I"m trying to ship a few boards and rigs to PuertoRico. Major problem finding even ONE shipper who would take private person's equipement.
Everything is based by size (length, width, depth) and weight. And you still need a place to ship it to at the destination.
Of course, buying from Seattle might not be the most cost efficient, so the closest location of gear purchase would save you some amount of money.
I saw a few SUP's being windsurfed by bigger guys, and they seem to plane up about as early as 160 liter windsurf boards. A good choice, pure length might be a determining factor in the shipping costs.

duties, and freight. one may be better off flying with the gear as "used equipment," just a trick that works for those going either south or north of the usa.

www.progressivesports.com has had experience sending stuff to sandals resorts in the carrib...

I'd go for one of those Exocet WindSUP 11'8" boards. It sups but it also planes and has a daggerboard.

The guys at Progressive Sports in Daytona Beach would probably know how to get it to the Bahamas.
