I would like to rent aboard and rig for use on Lake Worth in the West Palm Beach area from Feb. 5 to Feb. 11, 2012, while visiting family in the area.
Seems like all the local rental places have closed. I am looking for a freeride board, approx. 150 liters, with a rig about 8.5, ideally. I have about 30 years windsurfing experience, and will treat your gear kindly. I am willing to give a significant cash or credit card deposit, and pay reasonable rental rates.
Make some cash while helping out a fellow sailor. Thanks!
Dave

good point. I edited to a less ambiguous term. I rented equipment from Jim Douglass a few years ago, but he moved up north. |

Do you know the name or address? I just looked and couldn't find anything. |

I find it hard to believe that you cannot find rental info down there. Are you trying to avoid paying full rental prices through the traditional shops? |

I have been going to Singer Island to visit relatives for the last 20 years and all the rental shops in the area that I know of have disappeared. That's why I asked for the name of the place in Jupiter/Tempquesta, since I have been looking for a commercial rental shop. On occasion, I would bring my gear with me from the Chicago area, but this has become very difficult with airline baggage policies. The closest shops I know of are Calema, on Merritt Island, which does not do weekly or off-premise rentals, and Sailboards Miami, which does both, but is far away and over $500 for 5 days of rental.
To answer your question, yes, I am hoping to rent for less than what Sailboards Miami charges, but I think they are high. I am also looking for something closer. |

wavemomma@gmail.com or call
Cynthia (561) 629-3765.
or look up Maui Malone,
or Look up Paul Lebeau in Stewart about 1 hour North (it's possible he may not be there now)
or in Ft Lauderdale, Evolve watersports
or go the extra 20 mins to Adventure Sports. I guess you'll have to do the cold calls for lowdown on rentals at the shops mentioned as they may not allow take away. I'm sure with an offer of full deposit anything is possible;-) |

The shop in Jensen beach is long gone. I saw someone trying to sell a slew of old equipment (parts, components, etc.) on Craig's list two years ago and figured that those were the remnants of the shop. |
