Can't we figure out a way to blame this on Obama?

It's probably more productive to blame Obama for that horrible, communist, socialist, Marxist, leftist, fascist, wealth-spreading, tax-inflating, job-killing (they're all the same, right?) light bulb law that spells the end of free world democracy as we know it.

You know the law -- the one that George W. Bush signed in 2007. That new law outlaws 100-watt light bulbs based on 120-year old technology and replaces them with identical bulbs that produce the same light and last twice as long while consuming only 72-Watts of power.

Obama certainly deserves the blame for forcing better bulbs on humanity while Bush deserves the credit.

Right?

It doesn't work to blame Bush for anything anymore. The right wingers now claim to disagree with everything he did.

I generally thought Bush was an idiot many years ago. I didn't like him in 2000.

Citing a verifiable FACT is not blaming anybody, although we all know Bush/Cheney own enough blame to last 'til 2100.

Generally speaking, the ones who whimper "stop blaming Bush" are the ones who know in their hearts that the Bush/Cheney administration deserves the blame and that the Obama administration is merely digging out of a mountainous mess.

Is Obama digging right?

Not always, but they're doing the best they can while the "neo-Bushies" continue to sling dirt in the country's face.

More on the "fringe" of OWS..........this time from St. Paul's Cathedral.

"Music and free turkey are one thing; but mud, beer bottles, urine and drugs are quite another. According to homelessness charities and witness statements submitted by the City of London Corporation in its bid to evict the campers, St Paul's protesters are wallowing in the kind of dirt and seediness we associate with squatters and Elizabethan London. What's Christian about the pig-sty the protesters have created at St Paul's? Their anti-capitalist message is so popular with a certain elite, that their actions have been white-washed. But the reality is that this bearded smelly lot have taken over an ancient Christian site and wrecked it for believers who flocked there. Their defecation and urination on a holy site amount to desecration, as do their drug and alcohol abuse."

Too much God-talk utilized to score political points. Is this historic site ruined? No. Are some people wishing to use the location for religious worship inconveniences? Yes. Desecration is a charged word, and it bears mentioning that Jesus undermined conventional norms by eating with and befriending a prostitute and tax collector (a.k.a. as Johnny Knuckles). The lowest of the low. Beards, smell and station in life tend to overwhelm people's ability to see people for their value as humans. Sadly, those who complain only about urine miss the point.

I think the word you're looking for is "with"

This anthropophagous moment brought to you by iWindsurf ...
I think eating the tax collector is really distasteful. To each his own.
Shocked

Will those Christians who preach from a position of comfort and affluence, that the 'lowest of the low' are deserving and valuable human beings, invite a homeless drug addict or alcoholic into their homes over Christmas? Or is sympathy and understanding only dispensed in the general, and not the particular?

Jesus lived in an age when people suffered, often through no fault of their own, but he also understood human wickedness.

Those in real need of help and love, usually badly used and neglected children whom many of us would like to try and help, are not the ones protesting outside St Pauls. I'm sure Mr Gybe is aware of that, as are those of us who have been following the encampment from the start.

I have a hard time attributing Christianity to people whose dominant means of debate is baseless personal attacks.
