The only possible snag I can foresee would be if someone who gets wind of the idea is worried that the webcam might be used to spy on bikini wearers in the summertime. |

To the best of someone's knowledge, how many windsurfers would you say sail in Nahant?
There are just a few here on Cape Ann; more when the wind picks up. |

I realize we are all so cool not to pump up Josh Angulo too much, but Josh has attracted attention to Nahant for its outrageously regular windsurfing conditions. Let's give the new guy his due. Ignoring his stoke shall be to our detriment. Nahant is not Porta Preta on most days, but neither is Ho'okipa. Serendipity aside, Josh shows Nahant at its best
Mount the camera!
What can we do to mount a webcam in order to promote windsurfing in general and Nahant in particular? My operation in Winthrop is designed to promote windsurfing in Massachusetts. Anything that can add value to what we all enjoy so very much gets my support. Go Nahant! _________________ Support Your Sport. Join US Windsurfing!

The Morebeach Cam promotes a place, and not a restaurant or private interest.
www.morebeach.com
Morebeach Mike makes an income off of it....The camera is privately owned and maintained, but located within a window of a National Park Service building.
I don't know of any lecherous use....Note that the camera is a good one.....i think alot of the traffic is beachgoers, and people who want to look at the ocean from Ohio..I use it to check the swell/fog/tide/wind
You might ask him if he wants to expand his domain....he added Nauset beach last year, and also bought NESURF.com
Ps....See the post re: Josh on the http://www.morebeach.com/blog.html _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=zw0MgkO7VXw |

I re-read my post and figure I should clarify a bit. Josh Angulo adds so much stoke to windsurfing just by sailing at different spots and showing us how far the sport has progressed over the years. I love what he stands for and how he supports East of Air just for our huge effort to get started.

Boys, you guys giving me a bigger head than I already have...... But Thanks. In all honesty big hats off to James from James Blog who when I showed up had a lot of stoke going in the Nahant area. the fellas from Team abide are hardcore. Marblehead wave bandits Fred and Coelho are always on it. As well as diehard Matt and newcomer Chris Burd . Then you got the whole crew of Chargers from this Boston zone that keeps showing up to Nahant as they have been for many years. It's been an amazing season for me and in biggest part to all the hospitality and stoke from everybody in the area. If anything you guys are getting me fired up. Anyways, looks like me and my family are just getting settled in so I don't see us leaving in the near future, so plenty of sessions in the upcoming years... God-willing! Who knows maybe we'll even get the tides to throw in a webcam ? |

Hi Josh,
This is the OP. Thank you for your comments and interest in the webcam idea. It would be great to see something like this take hold.
I hope we get the chance to meet someday. I've been watching The Windsurfing Movie again. It's been great listening to you speak and seeing you windsurf in the film.
Thanks,
Jeff

The Tides Restaurant does sound ideal.
*Edit: I don't really know about webcam logistics either. It would great to hear what others might have to say. |
A friend of mine put me in contact with the mgr of The Tides and I will speak with him this AM about the possibility of the restaurant hosting a webcam. |
