Sir, you will have your lttle joke!
Must tell all those Serenity owners (well, I know of ONE anyway) they really just have short boards, and should be cracking loops in the surf. (Fixed centre fin not withstanding)

Undoubtedly it will be expensive, but it looks awesome to me.

I want to try one of those.
Are dark boards hot to the feet in the sun?

Strange things seem to be happening in the windsurfing industry.
A decent 5.0 metre session today brought out a friend who used to work for a dealer (I always got a discount) but who is now employed by a major distributor. In answer to my obvious enquiry as to how business was, his reply was forthright and instant! Quote, 'Board sales are f....d. S.U.P. is where it's at now. They are way out selling one and a half grand windsurfing boards.'
This ties in with the grapevine which has it that the big distributors are 'pushing' S.U.P. gear onto the dealers, at the expense of windsurfing, which they now seem to see as a lost cause.
It occurs to me that a renewed interest in long boards by Exocet (original introduction of Kona 1, thanks Patrice) and Starboard (Phantoms) may be a shrewd move. The 20 year old classics such as Cats, Lightnings, Equipes won't last for ever, but the enthusiasm of those who still use them probably will. Good and hopefully better replacements will soon be needed. I, for one, would be itching to buy one!
Ironic, if windsurfing sales contract into limited edition , bells and whistles, wave boards for the wave heads, and new racing type longboards for the 'real' enthusiasts.
Bring it on, I say, and about time too!

With two newly acquired Lechner boards in my garage, I am looking forward to my retirement 20-25 years from now .
Exocet RS D2? Why not? It looks extremely cool!! I have to go now and re-organize my garage...running out of room
It looks like this tread is going the distance, so will be back....

Sailed this baby for a second time now and starting to get the feel for it. Wind was 5-7knt and steady, just perfect for a nice practice session. Board is smooth as silk and I was immediately hypnotized. Few gusts, railed up nicely and hypnosis was running deeper. Turned around after several upwind legs for downwind leg and within seconds snapped out oh hypnosis and faced reality. OOOUUOOAAAEE hold on, got it!!! folded the dagger board, held my feet tight together and balancing act begun....28 years later and still remember how to do this!!!???, lucky wind was light. Repeated upwind/downwind routine few more times and came out dry and all proud of myself!!
Next time, I'll take it out on a little stronger wind, I think I am ready...
Here are few pictures from Wino Beach at Pyramid Lake.
