I just did my first go out of the season yesterday at Davenport (Hella cold and windy) and found a new wooden swingset built in the rigging area. Definitely not official as this is private land owned by the Davenport Cement Plant. It is undeveloped just the way we like it no fences excellent access.
We need to be careful not to piss off the landowner who might just put chain link fence around the whole lot.

For wha it is worth. The local guy who owns " home grown" the surf shop spoke with the owners and was given permision. He and a bunch of volunteers have been alowed to clear the brush and upgrade the space for the kids and beach goers.

If that is the case I don't have a problem with it. My kids will enjoy the swingset too. We just need to be respectful of the landowner for our access.

Given who owns the property, there's zero chance any permission was given for the current eye-sore.

Should the owners find out, a fence is GUARANTEED to go up which will be the last of the windsurfing rigging areas.

The local residents don't appear enthusiastic about the "beach upgrade" either as one of them recently beat Mr. Homegrown unconscious over the matter.

With any luck, this insurance hazard will be removed before the fence goes up. We'll see.
