Forum Members,

I came to this site trying to find an answer to a problem I've been asked to figure out. Hope a few of you might be able to help.

Girlfriend's family is in the fishing business. They're Taiwanese. Fish off the northern coast of Taiwan using a 20 meter vessel.

What I've been asked to look for is a website that will give wind, current, coastal/ocean weather conditions.

Wondering if any of you had some recommendations that I could pass on to them.

Thanks in advance,

KJ

KJ,
iWindsurf's alternative website, WindAlert.com, has good forecast coverage for Taiwan. Some updated wind conditions, too. (I'm not sure where to find info on ocean currents, though.)

Try this WindAlert profile for Taiwan:
http://windalert.com/en-us/Favorites/ViewFavorites.aspx?pid=117986

Pengjia Yu is a very good wind reading & forecast:
http://windalert.com/en-us/Search/SpotInfo.aspx?spotid=54956

Ting-pu could be a very useful reading, too:
http://windalert.com:80/en-us/Search/SpotInfo.aspx?spotid=16879

Very windy fall, winter and early springs in NTaiwan. That strait is where they lost ArnaldDeRosnay on his sail to ChiCom.
Most years, winter, they have a race series up there, usually very strong winds.
JamesChen, the old owner of KineticSailboards, was out of Taiwan. He stopped making boards about 5 years ago to assist his wife, a lawyer there.
