Frankly, I don't know why Obama's aunt wasn't returned to Africa long ago, but I don't know all the details. Still though, I have to be quite honest in my feelings that I don't share her opinions about financial entitlement in the US as voiced on the video.
Yet now, I understand the fact that she has been given sanctuary (not US citizenship) during Obama's presidency.
However, I don't feel Obama has any responsibility at all for financially sustaining his aunt in her time here. Family obligations, do not require such support in my view, especially given a lack of any real details about her situation or present mental health. Yet seemingly over time, the state of Massachusetts feels a financial obligation for some reason or another. Under the circumstances, it's hard for me to question that as a Californian. One has to respect reasonable state's rights in our nation. |

Do we extend emergency financial assistance to people we agree with only? I don't think this woman has any clue how different the US are from her homeland. She, as an older woman, might derive some feelings of entitlement from her status within her own culture, and she probably feels bitter about a lot of things, such as being treated as a pauper regardless of her perceived social status. There is much to be said about the sense of questioning her if it is to serve ANY other goal than political ammunition against a president who is related to her only by the accident of birth. _________________ florian - ny22

What's to say? She obviously (presuming this interview is representative) exemplifies the welfare mooch rational people want to kick off the dole. As I've said several times, a few $B spent to identify leeches like her may save tens or hundreds of $B wasted on them. Save unearned entitlements for those who deserve them (primarily legal residents involuntarily incapable of supporting themselves), not just Democrat voters and hitchhikers who simply want them. That should be obvious to anyone but outright socialists, so why belabor it? People like Auntie are rampant because they vote for the Donkey, not because Nancy Pelosi gives a damn about their well-being. If Obama intervened on her behalf, he is scum. I'm guessing he did not, because he would gain millions of votes more by supporting her with his own money and urging her to earn citizenship.
Satisfied? |

I wonder how these illegal leeches manage to sneak in their votes... _________________ florian - ny22

Nailed that loop Florian. I really don't know much about Obama's aunt, or have any sympathy for her from the video. But to watch matty argue that Obama is somehow responsible for supporting her--didn't her brother abandon his mother and fail to support him? And then Mike Fick repeat his familiar xenophobia nonsense, arguing that somehow all similar illegal immigrants managed to elect Obama--with a bigger margin than their patron saint Ronald Reagan--is just nauseating. Truly the failure of education in America when reasoning escapes the lunatic right. |

And the several hundred thousand dollars per minute that the pointless adventure in Iraq has cost us all these years we needn't discuss because, you know, people scamming on welfare are what really gouges the taxpayers. |

Had it been managed better it may not have been pointless.
Besides. we've spent FAR more on welfare (and education ... each ... ) than we've spent on the Iraq/Afghanistan war in the same time frame. Look it up. |

Yes, of course, I forgot. The fact that we spend money on pointless things like educating our population and looking after the poor clearly offsets any outrage over the thousands of dead U.S. soldiers and trillions of dollars that are and will be expended in other countries to accomplish......what was it?......oh, yes, security.
And I feel so much safer now!! |
