Hi Windsurfers-

CGWA and the American Red Cross recognize that windsurfers are often each others’ first source for rescue in the Columbia River. Our beaches are safer with more people who are prepared to act in an emergency. On August 21st, CGWA and the Red Cross are partnering to get you certified in CPR, and to go through some real-life river scenarios with State Park Rangers.

Time: Pick one of two sessions, either 9am to 1, or 1:30 to 5:30pm
Location: Port of Hood River Meeting Room
Cost: $38/person for pre-registration online; $45 at the door

The American Red Cross Adult CPR Certification Course includes:
- How to recognize and respond to an emergency
- How to overcome reluctance to act in an emergency
- Minimize the risk of disease transmission when giving care
- Checking a conscious person for non-life-threatening and life-threatening conditions
- Recognize signals of a breathing emergency
- How to care for a conscious and unconscious choking person
- Recognize signals of a cardiac emergency
- How to give cardiopulmonary resuscitation (SPR)
- Student Workbook
- 1 Year Certification in Adult CPR (must be at least 12 years old)
