AIG, GS , and the rest should have failed. Then the bond holders and creditors would have picked the carcasses for 25 cents on the dollar.

I love money too Boggs. I just don't want the government deciding who gets the money and who doesn't.

I thought Spicolli was one of your left wing idols. (He, Hugo Chavez and Fidel.......)

Irreplaceable Michelle

At the top right hand corner of page 17 of the New York Post, January 24, 2009, was a column entitled, "Replacing Michelle" in the National Review, The Week.

Here it is, as it appeared:

"Some employees are simply irreplaceable." Take Michelle Obama: The University of Chicago Medical center hired her in 2002 to run 'programs for community relations, neighborhood outreach, volunteer recruitment, staff diversity and minority contracting'.

In 2005 the hospital raised her salary from $120,000 to $317,000 - nearly twice what her husband made as a Senator.

Her husband, Barack Obama, had just become a US Senator. In fact, he requested a $1 million earmark for the UC Medical Center. Way to network, Michelle!

Now that Mrs. Obama has resigned, the hospital says her position will remain unfilled. How can that be, if the work she did was vital enough to be worth $317,000?

Let me add that Michelle's position was a part time, 20 hour a week job." Let's see, 20 hours a week X 52 weeks in a year is 1,040 hours. Hmmmmmm - let's do the math - $317,000 divided by 1,040 hours is something like $304.81 an hour! Holy C_ _ - Those wages are right up there with the "Ladies of the Night." Michelle must know some "tricks" that we don't know about!

My thoughts: How did this bit of quid pro quo corruption escape the sharp reporters that dug through Sarah Palin's garbage and her kindergarten files?

I hope this is forwarded so many times that the media will HAVE to cover it.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite government program.

Recession is when your neighbor loses his job.

Depression is when you lose your job.

Recovery is when Obama loses his job!

Any fool can print a trillion dollars, and spend it around, and say "look everybody, people are buying cars and houses again.

Once the printing presses stop (like Greece) and the unions start rioting, we'll see how smart it was to print all this "free" money.

Bard, Im a chartman, the markets have gone straight up in the past year. You can hypothesize til the cows come home. And if you want to compare the United States of America to Greece, you do so at your own peril. The Greeks are rioting because they might have to work til they are 60, while my old man is thrilled to put a tie on at 83.

No comparison. But...if Germany drops the Euro then Greece will effect the U.S.

I hope your Dad can continue to work for the next 15 years! He will then be paying for my retirement. Rolling Eyes

Honestly though, that is cool he's working. Does he share your pro big govt. pro big corporation perspective?

Greece should effect the USA, it is perfect example of the excess of the last decade. Germany should punt on this one. Sorry but pro big GOVT and pro big corporation cant exist simultaneously for long, so Im perplexed by your question. We are liberals, so we dont have the disdain for GOVT that you do.

There has never been a government that didn't eventually fail it's people.

So according to Bush...... fool me once, shame on ... shame on you. It fool me. We can't get fooled again."

Do you actually want those guys at the SEC who watch porn to be warching your money? They missed Madoff and GS.

How about Geitner who can't use Turbo Tax?

Look who started the new "Chicago Carbon exchange. Their money is in, and they're just waiting for the Obama paycheck.

Cap and tax, Healthcare, SEC, it doesn't matter. They all have their hands in the cookie jar.

Uh, guys ... pay attention. WE HAVE A NEW PRESIDENT NOW. Bush screwed up a lot of stuff, but the new guy is doing infinitely more harm in virtually every aspect. Let's face the real issues, not yesterterm. Jeez, I'm sure McKinley and Adams did some dumb stuff, too, but after 16 months the bigger alligator is the present administration.
