one of those days here in CT. Sailed 3 hours in winds 40-50 on a 3.2. Had a bad ending as I thrashed my rig on the rocks and waves. Fortunately the sail and boom were 20 years old. Wave mast broken in 3 pieces. Water is powerful!!!

Good to hear that the insane session caused no personal harm.
Strong sub 4.0 winds on the outer Cape today.
No woulda-cloulda-shoulda windsurfing or couch surfing decisions today; straight to the bed with 1/2 the covers pulled over my head. One hour of no kids or wife bugging me - priceless!!

Very amusing post, RonC. It definitely makes me glad I'm still a bachelor. We had good winds here in Fl., but I have been sporting a mild cold which I caught in the last Tropical downpour (2 days of rain, thunder, lightening and hail).

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Charlie, that you're "still a bachelor" is probably the result of other cosmic forces.

Good morning to all:
People, not from New England, ask about the threat of a hurricane. My take is it’s not the stray hurricane that rattles up the coast but the relentless NE’rs that hit about every 10 days or so.
With the venturi effect, I’d say the wind was blow’n 60 over the crest of the dune. The bench in the picture was 85’ back from the edge in 2003. You can also see that last summer’s boardwalk will need a little repair.
My son at 60lbs, in his pajamas, was standing beside me.
Also see the perch of the future Nauset Beach camera.
