Hi,
Any ideas for someone with knee injuries looking to get back into windsurfing after a 3 year hiatus? In Delray Beach FL and would like to do somewhere other than the ocean to start out with.
Is Miami my closest option?
Thanks! |

Check out the Ft. Lauderdale Liquid Sport's store, someone there should know something. |

More excellent advice from one of the forum's most skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced experts. And it's very clear that sailingjoe absolutely "knows something" -- maybe he knows something he's not telling us. |

you can launch from the boynton beach inlet, theres are a park there on the waterway. I only sailed it once on a north wind, it was decent though and close. theres a good crowd of regulars in stuart and some good flat water launches if you want to actually sail with some other people, its also acccomodating to just about any wind direction. |

I'm assuming you are interested in user friendly venues that will not jeopardize your return to sailing or rehab. Flat water inland, Lake Mangonia, West Palm Beach, any wind direction. Stuart causeway, good in all western quadrants, mostly strong northwest after a cold front. Biscayne bay, off the Rickenbacker causeway, any wind direction, or if you are feeling adventurous, Virginia Key, flat water launch and ride inside the reef, good in all eastern quadrants. Hope this helps. |

Don't forget Inlet Park on Gateway and Federal Highway. It is good in all directions from north to east to south. Not good if west. In a westerly (west, nw, sw) wind, go to Lake Mangonia in West Palm Beach.
Once you are better, some of the best waves on the east coast of Florida are at the Boynton Inlet. |
