Re: The rafter stash
Yes, I can be bought. I didn't give up on the Fall/Winter season, just stashed my sports stuff so I can use my sport utility for some utility work. The day that little blow happened, I just go lost in playing my gee-tar, and didn't think to check the wind. This was partially attributable to my having read the forecast. That was my first mistake.
Jalama 30' ! Sailing out: Seeing first set: Trying to get over, or outrun first set: Not making it: Heading toward the light: Insert eulogy here.

I would need a new wetsuit after a ride like that one.

30 foot at the J in the beginning of November, oh please! Fall just doesn't pack that kind of stuff. Believe me.
Now, mast high could be possible, so things could be interesting.

21 years ago on Thanksgiving weekend 1988 I sailed Jalama on double mast high surf and almost drowned. The size and power can be incredible. I got lucky and made it outside a few times, and then all hell broke out.....
Here's the projection for saturday.

Stoked that we might get some action this weekend! HB will be nice on a NW swell but the current gets nasty, really hard to get out. A couple years ago I got flushed under the pier.
C-Street is a better place, but its a pretty far drive for me....
Hopefully it goes off!!!

35 foot seas does not mean 35 foot surf. Jalama is projected to be double to triple overhead. Certainly big but not 30 foot. Not sure about C-street. South Orange County might be shoulder high. I'm praying for wind.

| Yes the truth is that this storm is at a very high latitude to effect us much. It looks impressive though.

| I don't know, but I have now been skunked the last three times I drove to Leo. The latest was yesterday, when at 1pm it was showing 20+. I got to Leo by 2pm, when it was 12. I guess it's just that time of year.
