Two ways to see the exact location of a station:

1) search for it by name, then zoom in:
http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?search=Xirivella

2) click "dynamic maps" on the left-hand menu while looking at the wind graph, then zoom in to the spot.

Hi David,

I don't like that I now have to do an extra click on the meteograms to see more hours. I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of users want to see more hours rather than the Quick Look. Can you make this a preference or put it back to more hours by default?

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian. We changed the default view in response to users who said the hourly reports over seven days was data overload. That's why it's called "quick look" - it's a reduced view. Making the "more hours" a user preference is a good idea. We'll try to make that happen.

I've been going through wind archives of international sailing spots, that I desire to visit, to increase my chances for getting wind.
The site works great and I love it.
Thanks, Hunt Very Happy

Is the beta site still available?
I was using the global coverage until yesterday.
I can access the global sites anymore.
I am on vacation overseas and really need the coverage.
It is an indispensible tool for checking the wind conditions.
Please bring it up even if it is in beta stage.

Your global map does seem to show Maui.As I searched around I had to approve nonsecure items on nearly every page change.
I haven't found Maui but will keep trying

I liked how, in the old system, I could jump from the 3rd ave wind graph to the SFO wind graph with one click. I don't see that I can do that anymore, now I can only jump to an entirely different and, to me, irrelevant area.

Thanks for trying to further improve an already wonderful web site.

I also note that when I look at the 3rd Ave tides, it no longer shows the currents, which is more important to me than the tides. Will the currents be coming back?

I like the expanded coverage and lots more upwind sites but it only works on my iPhone and not my desktop - what;s up with that?

As far as getting the stations on your desktop computer is general:
Classic iWindsurf does not have all the new stations integrated, but the 2008 Beta iWindsurf website does:
http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=1742&is_beta=true
(that page is the Gorge, but you can navigate to anywhere in the world)

As far as an actual desktop 'widget' (PC or Mac) is concerned, that is available here:
http://www.iwindsurf.com/desktop/
http://www.ikitesurf.com/desktop/

And of course you mentioned the iPhone app:

You need to have at least minimum topo features. Borders, lakes... anything. little yellow arrows in a grey box don't cut it. If it is coming or it needs to be clicked on I don't care... it ain't there if it ain't there when I open the page.

I would recommend keeping this beta version because of the tremendous additional regions that are covered. We have now much better view of nearby weather patterns that may impact our given own specific area. For us the Olympic Penninsula near Seattle may predict what happens later in Seattle, not to mention the potential terrific areas to windsurf.

It would be nice if you included a central NY region which could then show one of the windest places in central NY. Great Sacandaga Res. People do sail in the many of the finger lakes, GSR, or the Great lakes. Until then I'll just have to keep using Weather Underground to get a Zoom view of this area.

Searching on Beta for Benedict, NY, I see a pretty good station on the eastern shore of Great Sacandaga Reservoir:

http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?search=benedict%2C+NY

The "Great Sacandaga" station's current wind graph is here:
http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=1735&location_id=1180

The Finger Lakes near Syracuse are covered on the NY-Upstate page:
