Hi

Heading off to St Rafael south of Nice (think Riviera) next week...anyone windsurfed there? Trying to decide whether to pack a harness or not.
Thanks!
Kat

Of course you can windsurf there, its been a few years since I was there but if you google you will find rental shops on the beach.

I was near Hyeres, 1 hour west of Marseilles...so I'm sure you will find places if you search.

Have fun...

Max

If you haven't sailed in France you may be surprised at the number of shops near the coast everywhere. There were three retail stores in one shopping center near my house in Nantes and a dozen in driving distance. In Wind they have a little pullout book called the 100 best spots every year.
No women out there though.Lot of teenage boys.

Hi Katamax, you'll find many WS Spot from East to West.

Cannes is suitable for East winds, going SW You can surf in:
Beauvallon - Le Lavandou - Hyeres - SixFour (Toulone) - Marseille
Mistral is very frequent wind (NW) and works better from Hyeres to Maiseille. With South winds You can find serious waves from Toulone going west (La Ciotat, Eplochure, Prado, Sausset, Carro)

Here you can find some info.

If you didn't already leave, here's a good thread on subject of windsurfing in the South of France:

http://www.boardseekermag.com/forum/read.php?3,1850

I rented from this place a few times:

http://www.funboardcenter.com/ (afraid you'll need to translate from French) The center is located at l'Almanarre near Hyeres.
