YES, it was quite windy yesterday but the water is very shallow now, so much so, that the last time I sailed, nearly a month ago, I was digging my fin on nearly every gybe. A little too much for most all the kiters as far as wind but they have enough water still. I believe the wind didn't do so well at Lahontan unfortunately .

Marin Rod & Gun Club - OP'd on a 5.0, 93 liter combo. Wind was steady and strong. Shorty weather. Everyone there had a great time. I don't sail much there anymore, but today was special.

Yeah, believe it. The charts are lying. Add the ebb to that and its 25+.
Was it ever. Launched at the Yacht Club, (don't know why more folk don't launch there). 88L Naish, 5.5 downhaul MAX'ed. Sailed past East Beach and under the bridge in two turns,
Typical Conversation:
Yes, I launched down wind nice passing you!

I went out at Sparks Marina; people always ask about sailing there mostly because it is SO obvious as you drive by. Well it sucks. Always has. I went out mostly to practice tacks which I suck at and it wasn't even good for that. The wind is ridiculously up and down. You can be in one spot unable to even waterstart while on another part it's full planing. There were 2 other people out-didn't talk to them- they were mostly on the other side. There are a small gruop of folks who do sail (mostly boardstanding) there somewhat regularly. Water is fairly nice and it is big enough. It is like the worst gusty day ever at Candlestick; flat and up and down to the extreme. Don't go out there is my advice and I think I'll heed it, for now anyway.

Solo session at ebbing Tomales Bay yesterday. Had to outhaul my 5.0 two times and was way P'd by 5 p.m. If the sensor quits mid afternoon, the NOAA pt. reyes station meter was around 15 and a weather underground sensor on hill in the park was reading around 30. Split the difference!

TI Today was a gift. Bridge opens kinda early, wind fills in, ebb starts at 3:30. I hauled over a friend who hadn't sailed there in 10 years. He had a blast. I'm down for the count until at least Friday so I needed this.
