Hey I'm going out to the Chesapeake area for a few weeks at the end of the month. Any good places to rent gear and sail within a hour or two? Maybe someplace that co-located with a decent launch? Probably can't get gear in my rental car Smile

Check the website of the windsurfing enthusiasts of tidewater:

www.sailwet.com

They have a map with descriptions and directions for all the launch sites, among other things. It's under the "sail" tab.

There's also a small local shop called beach sports (www.beachsports.net) that may or may not still be in business. Call their number first before you go there. If you can't rent from them, you might be able to borrow gear for a day from someone in w.e.t.
