I for one would like to sail there someday, but have not yet.

It's windy right now..

No sailing in Manzanillo that I observed. Also, we made an effort to locate rental gear, and there was none. This was two years ago.

There was one sailor (from Montana vactioning) on a 6.2 and a few kiters at Barre de Navidad, but no gear to rent, the day we went there. Wind was side on. Our local guide told us this is the place he had seen windsurfers in the past.

It seems that there was excellent side off wind and deserted beaches right near the airport (which is between Manzanillo and Barre de Navidad).

Also, excellent side off wind and black sand beach at the small town of Cuyutlan (where the turtle preserve is located), but again no gear to rent. I did not see any kiters or sailors here, though.

Both beaches at Cuyutlan and Barre de Navidad have (un)healthy shore breaks.

Overall, Manzanillo was gritty and the air quality was fair while we were there.

Ross.
