I agree that the math does not seem to work
I think I could get the 4.7 or 5.5 going when the wind fills in at 15 but I tend to switch to fin sailing when it is a little above 15 mph and filled in. ...

I foil but find that I like the feeling of windsurfing a lot more. I find that I get off the foil as soon as there is enough wind for planning.

I enjoy the foil but I will switch to windsurfing as soon as I can. I like the feel/sensation of the board on the water.

Was on a 3.5 and it was too big. Made a few runs but was too overpowered to sail. The lake waves and rollers were great.

Thanks guys. Its fun and a challenge. I was foiling on a 5.2 when the other guys were watching and waiting to go out on 6.5 and 7.0 sails

Not sure if it is my board (old freeride 71cm) or the gusty ...
