Are you in Northern Michigan? Or are you in Wisconson? I usually sail on Huron, but the winds are usually better on West coast of Michigan (state). |

In Michigan I use my 3.5 sail to teach my 9 year old. You may get a few 3.5 days on the Great Lakes. The problem is with big winds come big waves. These waves are quite a bit different than ocean wave ... |

Most of us sail on long boards with 7.0 and up sails. Every once in a while you get short board and 6.0. Lexington, just north of Port Huron is great with a NE, or E wind. Short board 6.0 or smaller n ... |

Tawas Bay on Lake Huron is a great place to sail. Its shallow and usually flat. As soon as us sail past the point you can get some great waves. 15 to 20 mph winds is common. NE to S winds are the best ... |
