Why don't you take a look at the new GoPro HD camera.
It is waterproof and can take pics, but also amazing video footage. Runs about $250-300 |

Fixed ....Finally.
Here is how I did it. First applied some carbon tape and epoxy on the boom where the new head would go to build up the diameter.
