I had a Berky 295 that, for a period of about 5 years, I don't think I ever was passed. Donated it to a windsurfing club, and I see it on the rack from time to time, but I don't think anyone rides it.

I had presumed that more fins "grip" the wave better. And therefore might turn better, and of course be slower.

PS - to the rumors of quad fins, I would suspect that any such plans are for an SUP, where it makes more sense.
