It has been blowing good enough to make me want to go.
Now it just shut down for a week it looks like but not because of a hurricane.

I think you do great work.
Predicting anything means you are going to be wrong sometimes.
Plus, trying to predict what is going to happen in the boundary layer is really tough.

IMO, by far the best place for a beginner to get exposed to the sport is Worldwinds at Bird Island in Corpus Christi.
Protected, warm, flat water and reliable wind in the spring.
Cheap too and great ... |

The ironwood trees provided nice shade between sessions. They are gone now. It took these trees 60-80 years to grow before the beach became unstable. |
