Great stuff! Have to be vigilant to only get it on what you want to slide. I have heard horror stories.
Put it on the whole mast, and learn to sail with the boom at the bottom of the cutout!

If you want to sail in less than 10 knots, have great skills, and like a real challenge, get a D2. If any of these don't apply, it's quite unlikely that you'll enjoy the D2.
