Interesting, you know in Hawaii if a sailboat runs aground on the reef before the light of a new day it will be stripped of literally everything, engine, copper wires, literally everything.

You are gonna have to learn where they are by practice instead of fumbling around and feeling with your feet. The pros don't slide the feet and feel, they just stick em right in.

The 11'8" is a handful but it will plane in the footstraps for sure and it's not bad sub planing as it glides very nicely but not as good as a Kona or other narrower longboard sub planing for sur ...

What's particularly intimidating is how quickly it seems to go pear shaped and always it seems at the launch. Is it possible to launch these things not hooked in? So one could just let go of the bar?
